Finance Manager

London (Hybrid)

We are looking for a driven, proactive Finance Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be accountable for the full Finance operations, including transaction processing, management reporting, and working capital management. 

You will be leading the transition from our fractional Finance team to running the Finance function fully in-house. Once you are embedded in the business and can execute the existing processes, you will be expected to drive improvements in our operations. This includes establishing a new structure for any accounting support that you need.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a consumer goods business, a clear vision of best practices, and the ability to implement them. This role presents the opportunity to make a genuine impact across a scaling business and take meaningful steps forward in your career.

    Key Responsibilities

    Month-End & Management Accounts

    • Lead the monthly close process, including journal entries, prepayments, accruals, and reconciliations
    • Maintain balance sheet schedules and ensure all accounts are clean and fully reconciled
    • Prepare the monthly Board reporting
    • Support future fundraising initiatives

    Working Capital

    • Own our 16 week cash flow planning process, ensuring that we optimise our cost of capital
    • Monitor stock movements across systems to ensure accuracy
    • Manage supplier payment runs
    • Support B2B invoicing and aged debtor management

    Systems & Process

    • Work within Xero as the core accounting platform and maintain a clean chart of accounts
    • Develop and improve finance processes, templates, and internal controls as the business grows
    • Maintain compliance with filing requirements, global tax, etc.

    FP&A

    • Ensure we hit our goals by tracking performance against budget
    • Support the Finance Director and Commercial Analyst with ad hoc analysis and forecasting
    • Collaborate with team members from Operations and Marketing to drive better decision-making using data

    Who Are We Looking For?

    • Fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred
    • Experience of month-end close and management accounts preparation
    • Comfortable working independently and owning recurring finance processes
    • Strong Excel & Google Sheets skills
    • Detail-oriented with a systematic approach to reconciliations
    • Experience with Xero (or similar)
    • Background in D2C, e-commerce, or consumer brands
    • Familiarity with global operations and multi-currency transactions
